Fuengirola Spirals
The photograph, stark and abstract in its black and white palette, draws the viewer into a descent within an unseen building. Titled “Fuengirola Spirals,” the image transforms the architectural space into a study of form and shadow. Each descending floor is rendered as a white concentric ring, emanating from a central void. These rings, precise and almost mathematically generated, reduce the concept of a floor plan to its purest geometric essence.

Description
The photograph, stark and abstract in its black and white palette, draws the viewer into a descent within an unseen building. Titled “Fuengirola Spirals,” the image transforms the architectural space into a study of form and shadow. Each descending floor is rendered as a white concentric ring, emanating from a central void. These rings, precise and almost mathematically generated, reduce the concept of a floor plan to its purest geometric essence.
The doors, appearing as simple, unadorned rectangles, punctuate the smooth surfaces of the rings, hinting at the hidden spaces beyond without revealing any detail. As the perspective plunges downwards, the rings subtly deepen in tone, transitioning through progressively darker shades of grey, creating a sense of receding light and increasing depth. The final, ultimate descent culminates in a singular, bold statement: the very bottom floor is not a ring, but a perfectly rendered, solid circle, the apex of this geometric exploration and the ultimate reduction of the building’s structure to its elemental form.
